Today I visited restaurant New King after a very long time. It has been a year I think, but they did not let me down. Good food at a nice price quality ratio.
You guys must recognize this, but there is always the question which Chinese restaurant to choose when walking down the Zeedijk. There are so many, to name a few Nam Kee, Hoi Tin, Wing Kee and supposedly they all have their specific expertise (unknown to me btw) but one of my favorites is Restaurant New King. They serve Mandarin Cuisine. Not really sure what that means, but it was yummie. And it always is. This time I ordered a nice noodle soup and I chose 3 fillings: BBQ pork (Char Sieuw), Shrimp wontons (Sui Kau) and Peking Duck. As we were talking quite a lot, enjoying good company it took some time for us to order another dish. We went for the Dim Sum platter and I was stuffed. Think shrimp on toast, fried wontons, steamed shrimps, steamed pork and a nice chicken skewer.
No need to talk a lot, go and experience it yourself.
